I just finished the book ARIA by Susan Segal.
Lemme tell you, it was an excellent way to pass the work week . The MC Eve is recovering from a horrible boating accident in which she lost her husband and two children. Can you imagine?
Enough said.
Segal uses situations that I normally wouldn't have considered to bring out the suffering of poor Eve. The first time she goes grocery shopping, Eve ends up with a basket full of food fit for four people. All she has to feed is herself, and she barely manages to do that, not that I blame her. The paparazzi follows, and her new-found friends may or may not have her best interests in mind... just read it!
